Wellness on Wheels
The Wellness on Wheels vaccine program is a successful and effective community initiative that helps to expand access to vaccines in a unique way. By bringing the vaccines to Ed White High School, we are able to meet members of the community where they are and build trusting relationships with those who may not have access to immunizations otherwise.
This program is a great example of how innovative solutions can improve the quality of life for those living in underserved communities and provides an easy way for people to stay up-to-date with their vaccinations. Thanks to this mobile vaccine program, we are able to respond quickly to the needs of our neighbors and take action to ensure everyone has equal opportunities for good health.
Free haircuts, school physicals, and wellness services
Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville commemorated National Health Center Week in a meaningful way on August 19, 2019, by providing selected students with complimentary haircuts and sports physicals, among other wellness services.
These pro bono offerings ensured that local youth began their academic journey with the best possible conditions and provided them with needed services and peace of mind as well. The Agape Family Health organized the event and it was a heartfelt gesture to support the health of area students.
The implementation of Agape Family Health at the Community Partnership School in Edward H. White High School promises to provide students with comprehensive and quality health services. This partnership presents a much-needed opportunity for increased access to healthcare, as many of the students in this district have limited access to modern healthcare technologies. Additionally, it supports our goals of promoting the physical and mental health of all students so that they can reach their full potential academically.
Schools are preparing for the return of students, and Agape Family Health is doing their part. During a six-week period from July 13 to August 8, we offered back-to-school immunizations and physicals at Ed White High School. We provided healthy resources to ensure students had all immune system defenses in place so they could start the school year off right. Agape Family Health understands how important it is for students to stay up-to-date on their annual physicals and vaccinations, which is why we organized this initiative to keep Ed White High School’s student bodies safe and healthy.
